This week marked an important milestone for TAPiTAG as our founders, John McHugh and Mark Gibbons, were invited to present our business to representatives of the Canadian Embassy in Ireland, including Ambassador Dennis King and Adeline Grenier, Counsellor & Senior Trade Commissioner. The meeting, facilitated by LEO Westmeath and supported by Minister Robert Troy, brought together innovative Irish businesses with a shared objective: to explore new international opportunities.
Held in the Park Hotel in Mullingar, the event featured a select group of LEO and Enterprise Ireland-supported companies showcasing their products, technologies, and growth journeys. TAPiTAG was honoured to be among them.
Presenting TAPiTAG’s Innovation
During our session, John and Mark introduced the TAPiTAG ecosystem—our smart digital networking solutions and our rapidly expanding gamified donation platform, designed to revolutionise how organisations engage supporters and raise funds.
The Canadian Ambassador expressed particular interest in our gamified fundraising technology, recognising its potential impact within major public-facing institutions in Canada.
Exploring Partnerships With Canadian Hospitals
One of the most exciting parts of the discussion centred on the opportunity to collaborate with Canadian hospitals and healthcare foundations. These organisations run frequent fundraising campaigns, and TAPiTAG’s interactive donation tools could significantly enhance donor engagement, storytelling, and participation.
We were encouraged by how closely our vision aligns with Canada’s growing appetite for digital innovation within the charitable and healthcare sectors.
A Productive Meeting With Promising Outcomes
The TAPiTAG team left the meeting energised and inspired by the possibilities ahead. Engaging directly with the Ambassador and trade representatives provided invaluable insights into:
-
Pathways for Irish tech companies entering the Canadian market
-
Support channels for international expansion
-
Potential pilot opportunities with Canadian institutions
-
Strengthening Irish–Canadian trade relationships
We are grateful to LEO Westmeath for the invitation and continued support, and to Ambassador King and Adeline Grenier for their warm engagement and genuine interest in our work.
Looking Ahead
As TAPiTAG continues to scale internationally, Canada represents an incredibly exciting market for both our digital networking solutions and our gamified donation technology.
We look forward to building on the momentum from this meeting and exploring meaningful collaborations across the Canadian healthcare and non-profit landscape.
Stay tuned for updates as we continue our journey of innovation and global expansion.
